Amish Cinnamon Friendship Bread

DO NOT REFRIGERATE! Let dough sit on your countertop. If air gets into the bag, let it out. It is normal for batter to thicken, bubble and ferment.

  • Wednesday, Day One. Do Nothing
  • Thursday, Day Two. Squeeze the bag several times.
  • Friday, Day Three. Squeeze the bag several times.
  • Saturday, Day Four. Squeeze the bag several times.
  • Sunday, Day Five. Squeeze the bag several times.
    Add:
    1 cup flour
    1 cup milk
    1 cup sugar
    Squeeze bag to mix together thoroughly.
  • Monday, Day Six. Squeeze the bag several times.
  • Tuesday, Day Seven. Squeeze the bag several times.
  • Wednesday, Day Eight. Squeeze the bag several times. Pour and squeeze contents into a large bowl.
    Add:
    1 cup flour
    1 cup milk
    1 cup sugar
    Mix well.
    Pour 3/4 cup of mixture each into 4 large (gallon size) ziploc bags. These are your starters to give away with a copy of these instructions.

To what is left, add:
1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

In a separate bowl, mix:
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 large box of vanilla instant pudding

Add mixtures together. Grease 2 large (or 4 small) loaf pans and coat with cinnamon and sugar.

Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
